Gun Magazine With 10-Hollow Point Bullets Found at Brown University Construction Site - 2 Workers Dismissed

Last Saturday, April 25, a gun magazine with 10 hollow-point bullets was found at the construction site for the Danoff Life Science Center in Providence.
The 7-story building is a $300 million Brown University-funded project.
In a speech to the workers on site on Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM, Jenna Andrianopoulos-Kornichuk, the project executive for the general contractor, Boston-based Suffolk, told about 200 workers assembled, “There was a weapon found on the site on Saturday, and that was turned over to the police.”

“This is a police matter at this point,” said Jenna Andrianopoulos-Kornichuk
“I just want to talk quickly through our policy onsite; there is a zero policy for any weapons onsite; if found, you will immediately be moving on,” she added.
But her representation of the reporting on the weapon found does not match the Providence Police report.

Lack of Transparency
According to the police report secured by GoLocal, there was little transparency between the construction managers and the police.
The representative refused to identify himself or to say who owned the magazine. The person reporting the weapon misidentified where it was found.
According to sources with direct knowledge, it was found in one of the exterior construction elevators.
The Providence Police Report States:
On Saturday, April 25, 2026 at approximately 1234 hours, I Patrolman Steven Perez responded to Central Station for a report of an article found. Upon arrival, I met with a male who wished to remain anonymous. This male subject stated he wanted to turn in a loaded Glock magazine that was found by him at his work site. The magazine was located on the roof of 233 Richmond St, which is a building that is under construction and is yet to be finished. The male stated he suspects it belongs to one of his co-workers and wanted police to have it since his co-worker was reckless enough to lose it. The male insisted on staying anonymous and left the station. The Magazine was entered into a property locker for safekeeping.
GoLocal has learned that two workers have been dismissed from the project by Suffolk. Neither has been questioned by police.
