Police responded to the 500 block of Plainfield Street shortly after 3:30 AM on Saturday for the report of a home invasion.

The female victim told police that multiple individuals wearing masks had come to the apartment door shouting “police,” before breaking down the door to enter the unit.

She said there were at least 5 suspects; she told police she was struck in the head as they entered, causing a laceration to her forehead.

The victim added that one of the suspects appeared to have a gun.

She said the suspects then entered her son’s bedroom and tied him up with duct tape and struck him in the head with a crowbar.
