Man Stabbed at Club Mi Sueno, Site of Numerous Incidents

A man was stabbed early Sunday morning at a club in Providence, GoLocal has learned.

The incident took place at Mi Sueno on Broad Street, making it the latest public safety issue at the establishment - MORE BELOW

The owners and operators of the club are major political donors.

About Stabbing

Providence Police officers on patrol in South Providence said they encountered a shirtless man suffering from a stab wound on Broad Street shortly before 1 AM.

The victim - a male in his 30s - said he had been stabbed at Mi Sueno when he was on the patio and had gotten into an altercation.

Police said he was losing so much blood, that an officer didn't wait for rescue and drove him directly to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is now in stable condition.

Officers said they later learned the suspect attempted to stab a security guard at the club as well.

A description of the suspect was provided to police; detectives are now investigating.

At about 2 AM on Sunday morning, Providence Police responded to the report of a shooting outside of Mi Sueno, located at 1070 Broad Street.

According to police, security for the club said that there were five men involved in a fight, and a gunshot was heard.

Further, he told police he saw a man with a handgun.

Police recovered a 9MM shell in front of Mi Sueno.

This is just the latest for Mi Sueno, a club whose management has been prolific political donors. Two of the largest recipients have been Providence Mayor Brett Smiley and his predecessor, Jorge Elorza.

Here are some of the incidents that have taken place in or outside of the club, according to the Providence Police:

In September of 2022, Providence police responded to a "large disturbance" at the club

Shortly after 7 PM on Sunday, police were called to Mi Sueno on Broad Street, where they said there was a large crowd that had begun to exit the club.

Videos on social media show a massive fight having taken place inside the premises.

According to police, they worked to disperse the crowd - and there were no arrests made or victims identified. 

 

In August 2023, police say they were approached by a man in his early thirties with a laceration to his head, who said he was struck by a bottle inside Mi Sueno.

 

In October of 2023, a man was arrested with a ghost gun outside the club.

 

On November 18, 2025, a man told Providence Police he was robbed and assaulted by multiple individuals in the city.

GoLocal reported:

Shortly after 12:30 AM on Monday, November 17, police responded to 1070 Broad Street - the location of club Mi Sueno - for a report of robbery. 

The victim - a male in his 20s - said he was outside when five unknown individuals approached and began assaulting him. 

According to the victim, the individuals struck him multiple times in the back of the head and in the face;  the victim said he was robbed of a jacket worth over $1000 and his phone was smashed.

He told police he kept his head down during the attack and was unable to see the suspects. 

 

Political Donations to Top Providence Politicians

 

Management of the club has donated more than $36,000 in political contributions, according to Rhode Island campaign finance reports.

The biggest donor is Jesus Titan, who Rhode Island corporation reports as the owner of Mi Sueno.
