Robberies Reported at Kennedy Plaza, Dunkin’ Donuts in Providence on Saturday

Providence police responded to reports of robberies at Kennedy Plaza — and a Dunkin’ Donuts — in Providence on Saturday. 

The reports come after Police were investigating a report of an armed robbery on Federal Hill

Shortly after 3:35 PM on Saturday, police were dispatched to Central Station for a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival police met with the victim, who appeared upset and visibly shaken. The victim stated to police that at approximately 3 PM while at 99 Kennedy Plaza, he was approached by an unknown white male subject, described as being a "tall stocky white male, having long blonde hair with shaved sides."

The victim stated he and the subject got into an argument and the subject then proceeded with assaulting him and dropping him to the floor. The unknown subject then took his cell phone an Android phone with a white cover, and his wallet containing his bus pass and SNAP EBT card.

The victim complained of pain to his right shoulder and was transported by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital.

Dunkin’ Donuts Parking Lot 

At 5:30 pm, police were dispatched to 51 Silver Spring for robbery. Upon arrival police made contact with the victim and his friend, who stated to police that they were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 50 Admiral Street.

The victim said a male subject brandished a black handgun and told him to hand over the cell phone. After getting the cell phone the male subject returned to the vehicle and it fled on Fillmore Street towards Douglas Avenue.  The victim described the subject “as a thin black male with possible face tattoos wearing an Adidas jumpsuit.”

Detectives were on the scene.
