Details Emerging in Mass Shooting in Providence: 5 Victims Are Aged 19 to 20, and 28 Casings Found

Details are emerging of the mass shooting that GoLocal was first to report, which sent five people to area hospitals.

 

According to police records, the victims — four men and a female were all 19 or 20 years old.

The shooting took place at about 4:30 AM on Monday.

 

“On Monday, July 6th, 2026, at approximately 0431 hours, I, Ptlm. Valdez (Car 363), along with the rest of the district 6 cars, were dispatched to 315 Harris Ave for a report of a shooting with approximately 30 gunshots heard,” according to police.

 

The 13 witnesses interviewed about the shooting, which took place in the mill area near the Capco Steel building, were between the ages of 15 and 61.

 

Four of those witnesses were under 18.

 

Police incident report unveils the victims had been shot in the arms, legs and in one case in the groin.

 

While on scene, police were able to locate twenty-eight spent shell casings in the parking lot behind 301 Harrs Ave and an open folding knife, along with a puddle of blood in the rear of Capco Steel. Police taped off the scene and held it for Detectives. It should be noted the weather was steady rain which washed the blood away,” according to the police.

 

No one has been arrested in Monday's shooting.
