Shooting Outside Paris Bistro in Providence, Club Owned by Cranston City Councilman

An argument in the Paris Bistro Cafe and Lounge led to one man shooting the other outside the club on Smith Street. The shooting took place about 6:45 PM on Sunday.

The man was shot twice and taken to the hospital.

Police believe the injuries were not life-threatening.

According to state business records, the Paris Bistro is owned by Cranston City Councilman Andy Andujar.

No arrest has been made.

The club also faced enforcement actions by the Providence Board of Licenses in March.

Andujar is a text message to GoLocal wrote, “This was an isolated incident, and neither the public nor our patrons were in danger. Management followed all procedures and protocols of removing parties upon arguments or confrontation.”

“Once cleared, one of the parties came back to the scene, and attempted harm on the other. We are fully cooperating with Police, and at this time Paris Lounge is closed,” said Andujar.

Andujar said, "We are cooperating with the police, we will respect the board's decision, but right now we are voluntarily closing."
