Manhattan Short Film Festival at Jamestown Arts Center
The Final Ten Manhattan Short finalists hail from seven countries with films from France, Iran, Canada, Finland, and Germany alongside two films from USA and a record three from the United Kingdom.
These Final Ten films represent the best short films from among 1,250 submissions from 70 countries received by Manhattan Short for 2019, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films worldwide.

Final Polo Match of Season at Newport Polo Grounds
Saturday marks the final polo match of the season.
Witness the excitement of one of the fastest ball sports in the world, played at thoroughbred racing speed when Team USA/Newport takes on challengers from around the world and major U.S. Cities in the Newport International Polo Series.
Bring a picnic & blanket to spread on the lawn or reserve centerfield Pavilion seats.

Sail for Hope at Sail Newport
Sail Newport and the organizers of Sail for Hope announced that the annual fundraising regatta will benefit efforts to aid the recovery in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian.
All sailboats over 22 feet are invited to participate in the race around Jamestown.
Several classes are available for PHRF-rated boats, spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions and some one-designs will also race.
Sail for Hope is also open to powerboats who want to join the cause and sail around Conanicut Island to help raise funds for the Bahamas.
