2026 All-Transfer Team
GoLocal takes a look at the performance of the men’s college basketball players who left programs in Rhode Island for other programs after the 2024-25 season.
A number of those players who left had outstanding seasons, and two are still playing in the NCAA tournament.
And multiple others made the Big Dance but have since been dispatched.

While some left for bigger money, others were pushed away.
A surprising number went dancing this past year, while none of the four local teams made the postseason.
2026 All-Transfer Team
Jamarques Lawrence: URI ➡️ Nebraska
Jamarques Lawrence is playing in the Sweet 16.
The senior guard, who returned to Nebraska after playing at Rhode Island last year, provides an experienced distributor and shooter who is well-versed in the Huskers’ offensive system.
He is averaging 9.1 points and a career-high 3.6 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range
David Fuchs: URI ➡️ San Francisco
The West Coast Conference (WCC) officially announced David Fuchs as the WCC Newcomer of the Year. And he was named All-Second Team
Fuchs also becomes the second Don in the past three seasons to be named WCC Newcomer of the Year after current Toronto Raptor Jonathan Mogbo earned the award following the 2023-24 season.
He averaged 12.4 PPG.
Bryce Hopkins: PC ➡️ St. John's
Bryce Hopkins is in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. The senior forward was named second-team All-Big East.
He averaged 13.6 PPG and 6.2 rebounds a game.
He, of course, made the biggest news when he was hammered to the court by PC Duncan Powell.
Jayden Pierre: PC ➡️ TCU
Former Friar guard helped lead TCU to the NCAA tournament's second round.
St. Pierre averaged 10.1 PPG and 2.8 assists per game.
He spent three years in Providence.
The Horned Frogs lost to Duke in the NCAA tournament in the field of 32-game.
Anton Bonke: PC ➡️ Charlotte
Anton Bonke was one of the most interesting Friars, and Coach Kim English never really gave the 7-footer a chance.
He went from averaging 1.3 PPG at PC to 10.6 PPG at Charlotte. And his rebounding average jumped from 1.2 to 8.3.

Barry Evans: Bryant ➡️ VCU (Honorable Mention)
Barry Evans was a breakout star at Bryant two seasons ago. He was
2025 America East Newcomer of the Year, 2025 All-America East Second Team, and he averaged 13.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game to help lift Bryant to an America East Championship and NCAA Tournament berth.
At VCU, he averages 7.2 PPG and 4.9 rebounds. VCU was another NCAA tournament team.
Coach Phil Martelli: Bryant ➡️ VCU
He did it again. After taking Bryant University to the NCAAs, Phil Martilli left Smithfield for VCU and guided that program to a 28-8 record and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
