Man and Woman Stabbed Overnight at Providence Apartment Building
A man and a woman were stabbed overnight in Providence.
The assault reportedly occurred during a fight over money.
About Incident
Officers arrived at the Charlesgate housing complex on North Main Street shortly after 11:30 PM on Friday for a report of a stabbing.
Police said when they arrived, there was blood in the building lobby as well as second floor hallway
Officers encountered a woman with a stab wound to her shoulder; a male victim had a stab wound to his face.
The male victim told police he had accompanied the female victim to an apartment to collect a debt from a female resident.
He said when they got to the unit, the woman - later identified as Magdaliz Diaz, age 44 - was armed with a knife and asked them to leave; a fight ensued at which time the victims were stabbed.
The victims were transported to area hospitals; Diaz was arrested and is facing charges.
