The band 7 Day Weekend will be performing at the Newport Blues Cafe on Friday night

IG Rhody Instagram Showcase at Skiff Bar
Photographs by local photographers will be displayed as part of a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Place a bid while enjoying complimentary light hors d’oeuvres.
Each bid placed earns the bidder a raffle ticket for fun prizes.
The showcase begins at 7 p.m.

"Boeing Boeing" at Newport Playhouse
Newport Playhouse and Cabaret Restaurant continues its 2019 season with the comedy “Boeing Boeing” by Marc Camoletti.
The play centers on a bachelor juggling three stewardess girlfriends - until all three ladies land on his doorstep at the same time.
Bernard (played on alternate dates by Austin Venditelli and Joshua Fogerty) has everything in perfect order in his flat in Paris.
With the help of his housekeeper Berthe (Leslie Zelle), he juggles juggling incoming flight schedules and visits from his three flight attendants fiancees - Gloria (Kathleen Kent), Gabriella (Annette LaBonté) and Gretchen (Genevra Stewart) - and no one is aware of the other's existence.

Newport String Project Season Opening Concert at Newport Art Museum
The Newport String Project will perform a dynamic program of works by Dvorak, Schumann and Montgomery. In celebration of the Museum’s current exhibition Forever Young: Representations of Childhood and Adolescence, the concert will feature a performance of Schumann’s “Scenes from Childhood”, arranged for string quartet.
The afternoon will also include Dvorak’s autumnal String Quartet in E-flat and Jessie Montgomery’s soaring Duo for Violin and Cello.
The concert begins at 2 p.m.

Island Moving Company Presents "Alice in Wonderland" at Newport Congregational Church
Alice In Wonderland will get a fresh Island Moving Company spin on Rhode Island Ballet Theater’s Artistic Director Nancy McAuliffe's original version.
With a music score by Dimitri Shastokovich and new, exciting choreography by Nancy McAuliffe, Miki Ohlsen and Danielle Genest, guests of all ages will follow the white rabbit as he takes Alice and the audience down the rabbit hole to Wonderland, where they will meet the Red Queen, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and all the magical residents of Wonderland.
The show begins at 4:30 p.m.

Free Tours of Loeb Visitors Center at Touro Synagogue
The Loeb Visitors Center at Touro Synagogue in Newport is celebrating its 10th anniversary by giving free admission to all Rhode Island residents
The Loeb Visitors Center tells the story of religious freedom and tolerance in Rhode Island.
Among the exhibits at the center is President George Washington’s 1790 Letter to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport.
In his letter, Washington promised that the government of the United States would give “to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance.”
Tours run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Pell Bridge Run
Open to runners and walkers, don't miss your chance to cross the post-card perfect Pell Bridge and its 4-miles of sweeping views.
Once a year, pedestrians and runners are allowed to cross the Pell Bridge. The award-winning Pell Bridge Run is produced by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority.
The event is not-for-profit and 100% of proceeds will go to support local not-for-profits.
The event begins at 7 a.m.
