On the Jamaican music scene for almost 10 years now, The Copacetics are an 8 piece Reggae/Ska band that bring authentic Jamaican rhythms to set the best mood for your event! From their catchy original songs, to the traditional tunes dating back to the birth of the Jamaican groove, The Copacetics will have you dancing, drinking and enjoying the Summer life

Murder In The Front Row (2019) Film Screening at Columbus Theatre
The Columbus Cooperative and Dreadphile proudly present a screening of the documentary Murder In The Front Row (2019), narrated by Brian Posehn.
In the early 1980’s, a small group of dedicated Bay Area headbangers shunned the hard rock of MTV and Hollywood hairspray bands in favor of a more dangerous brand of metal that became known as thrash. From the tape trading network to the clubs to the record stores and fanzines, director Adam Dubin reveals how the scene nurtured the music and the music spawned a movement.

Rhythm & Roots Music & Dance Festival at Ninigret Park
Featuring on site camping, 4 stages, and 2 dance tents. Come and join the fun for all ages.
Activities are grouped by age.
Family Stage features parades, acclaimed storytellers, comedians, games, bubble art, crafts, and a peak into the indigenous history of Rhode Island.
There is even a kid's Cajun music camp.
The festival goes from noon to midnight.

DNA Labor Day Weekend Riverwalk Restoration Project
Over the last three years, hundreds of DNA volunteers, along with our partners at the Providence Parks Department, have transformed over a mile of our Riverwalk (from the Hurricane Barrier to the basin of Waterplace Park) by replacing all of the broken/missing cables, and by sanding and painting over 400 railings, light poles, trash receptacles and benches.

Providence Roller Derby at Alex and Ani Center
Providence Roller Derby (PRD) is back for a Home Season full of fun, excitement, and competition!
First up, PRD Juniors will take the track and show us the future of derby!
Next, the Old Money Honeys take on the Mob Squad in the deciding game of the 2019 Home Season - who will make it to Champs this year?
Coming off a win against the Mob last summer, the Honeys are looking to secure their spot in Champs, but the Mob aren’t ready to bury this year’s bodies yet
The event begins at 5 p.m.

RI Philharmonic Pops at Independence Park
The RI Philharmonic Orchestra announces four Summer Pops concerts in various locations throughout Rhode Island.
Resident Conductor Francisco Noya conducts the concerts, which are FREE and open to the public.
