Stacom wrote on March 10, highlighting some of the positive potential due to the talent on the team, “…Oswin Erhunmwunse led the league in Blocked Shots (2.2) and was 3rd in rebounds with 8.6 per game. Also, Stefan Vaaks and Jamier Jones proved to be one of the best freshman combos in the country. “
Jones and Vaaks were the freshman duo that both made the All-Big East Freshman Team.
Now, both, along with four other Friars, are entering the portal. SEE LIST BELOW
Jones, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game this season while shooting 57% from the field.
Fine stats, but it was his athleticism that put him on another tier. Now, his return to Providence is highly unlikely, and the Friars will be hard-pressed to attract a player of his potential. His departure was first reported by ON3.com
2026 College Basketball Transfers
Stefan Vaaks
The Estonian came to PC and became a proverbial diaper dandy. Stefan Vaaks was named to the All-Big East freshman team.
The sharpshooter has posted to social media that he is leaving Providence.
Rich Baron
The junior who has often been injured showed great promise as a freshman.
He was selected to the All-Big East freshman team two years ago.
Daquan Davis
Davis was originally a Cooley recruit and then decommitted after Cooley left for Georgetown.
After a strong year at Florida State, Davis transferred to PC. He was slated to be the Friars point guard, but played just 12 minutes.
Now he is off to the portal again.
Jaylen Harrell
One of Providence College’s prized recruits, Jaylen Harrell, is expected to enter the transfer portal.
He and Jamier Jones were Kim English’s premier recruits. While Jones played well and made the All-Big East Freshman Team, Harrell played in just 6 games and averaged just 3.7 PPG.
ON3.com was first to report Harrell's move.
Oswin Erhunmwunse ➡️ Creighton
On Thursday, Oswin Erhunmwunse confirmed he is exploring his options.
The 6’9” sophomore was a shot-blocking force for the Friars last year, averaging 2.1 blocks per game.
But, he seemed to regress offensively and averaged just 6.9 PPG and 8.3 rebounds.
Jamier Jones
On Friday, ON3 reported that Jones would enter the portal.
Jones, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game this season while shooting 57% from the field.
