PC’s Powell Accused of Assaulting a Woman 6 Times and Threatening to Kill Her Mother

New accusations are emerging about Providence College basketball player Duncan Powell.
The graduate student was charged by both the Cranston and Providence Police Departments this weekend.
On Monday, Powell pled not guilty to the Cranston charge and was released on $1,000 personal recognizance.

As GoLocal reported on Sunday, Cranston Police provided details about threats Powell made, including alleged statements that he would kill his ex-girlfriend, others at a party, and himself.
Now, accusations of six incidents of assault and a threat to kill the victim's mother.
New Details From Providence Police
According to Providence Police records, the alleged victim “reported that she had been involved in a verbal dispute with her ex-boyfriend, Duncan Powell. During the incident, she stated she informed Powell that she was ending the relationship. Powell became upset and threw a water bottle, which struck her on the right knee, causing swelling and bruising.”
In addition, the alleged victim told Providence Police, “…that Powell later contacted her and threatened to go to her mother's residence…and shoot her mother.”
And, the victim said this was not the first incident. “She appeared fearful and stated Powell assaulted her before approximately six (6) times in the past. She also reported that earlier in the day, while having her vehicle serviced, she located a suspected tracking device underneath her vehicle.”
Presently, Powell faces a domestic assault charge in Providence and a domestic disorderly conduct in Cranston.
Providence College issued the following statement on Monday morning:
The College has learned that student-athlete Duncan Powell has been arrested by both Providence Police (PPD) and Cranston Police (CPD) as a result of domestic incidents that occurred off-campus during the weekend. Both departments are currently investigating the matter.
The College will follow its student-conduct disciplinary process as it would with any other alleged student behavioral matter. There will not be any further comment until the police investigations are complete and the College has been informed of the outcomes.

Powell's Record
He made national news on St. Valentine’s Day for his takedown of former Friar Bryce Hopkins, who was playing for St. John’s.
The 6’8” forward is from Dallas, Texas.
Before coming to Providence, he attended North Carolina A&T, Sacramento State, and Georgia Tech.
