East Side “Porch Pirates” With Stolen Packages Apprehended by Police After Crashing Into Snowbank

Providence police apprehended two females and a juvenile following a chase that saw a vehicle with stolen plates ultimately crash into a snowbank -- with multiple stolen packages from the East Side of Providence including cologne, children's books, and a Star Wars toaster.
According to police, addresses on the envelopes and packages were fromt Pitman Street, Wayland Avenue, Taber Avenue, Doane Avenue, and more.

GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTOn Tuesday morning shortly before 2 AM, officers were on routine patrol in separate police cruisers when they observed a 2016 Silver Toyota Corolla bearing Rhode Island plates traveling at a perceived high rate of speed on Malbone Street towards Eaton Street.
Police shortly after observed the vehicle continue at a high rate of speed, going through a stop sign without stopping. Police continued to watch the vehicle from a safe distance travel through the PC Mart gas station at an extremely high rate of speed in such a manner that the vehicle briefly bottomed out causing sparks to emanate from the undercarriage.
Police then activated the overhead lights while maneuvering through the intersection. The vehicle continued on Douglas Avenue at a high rate of speed, while attempting to negotiate the turn at the intersection of Douglas and River Avenues, the vehicle was unable to maintain control and the vehicle came to a rest in a snowbank at the aforementioned intersection.
Police shortly after observed three females exit the vehicle and flee on foot. Police observed a female exit the driver seat and flee on foot, who was shortly after apprehended and placed in handcuffs.
Additional officers responded to the area and apprehended a juvenile at the intersection of Sunbury and Durham Street. A short time later Police observed a subject hiding under a pickup truck in the driveway of 902 Douglas Avenue in close proximity of where the driver was taken into custody.
Police gave loud verbal commands for the subject to show their hands to which she complied. The subject was placed in handcuffs and seated in the rear of a marked Police cruiser.
Police conducted a search of the suspect vehicle and located nine packages and envelopes with multiple names and addresses from Pitman Street, Wayland Avenue, Taber Avenue, Doane Avenue, and Dome Street.
In the packages, police found the following:
* 1 box containing two handheld flashlights
* 1 Vermont maple syrup
* 1 “Long Rifle” bar of soap
* 1 Dena toy box
* 6 Wheat Thin boxes (Unopened)
* 5 Bath and Body Works strawberry pound cake soap
* 1 wind spinner
* 1 baby blue daisy duck
* 1 unopened X-Box 1S
* 1 unopened Nintendo Switch grip
* 1 honeywell thermostat
* 1 ring doorbell flood light camera
* 1 marvel body wash kit
* 1 Tom Ford cologne
* 1 teeth whitening kit
* 1 every man jack body kit
* 1 star wars toaster
* 1 ASOBU frosty beer
* 1 “gift for you” gift bag
* 1 step stool bearing the name “Micah”
* 1 pack of furniture pads
* 1 box of TOPANIFARM toys
* 1 black duffle bag containing numerous child books
* 1 black DPMS BB gun
Police ran the license plates and were advised that the plate was actively stolen. Police seized the stolen license plate which revealed a VA registration underneath. Police ran the vehicle's VIN which revealed that it was actively stolen out of Providence.
The driver was issued a summons for no license and transported to Central Station where she was held and charged by the patrol bureau with 31-27-4 Reckless Driving, 31-11-18 Driving Without a License and turned over to Detectives for further charging.
The vehicle was towed from the scene by City Towing.
