Woman Assaulted Outside Club Owned by Providence Police Chief’s Sister - Officers Across City Called to Disperse Crowd of Hundreds

Providence Police say that units from across the city responded overnight to a club owned by Police Chief Oscar Perez’ sister - and it is the latest in a number of recent episodes at the establishment.
According to police, units were called shortly after 2 AM on Sunday to disperse more than 300 people drinking and partying in the parking lot outside Lovera, located on Broad Street in South Providence.
Police say Lovera staff and security did nothing to help officers; a woman was reportedly assaulted at the location.

As GoLocal reported last October, “Providence Police Chief’s Sister’s Club Is Site of Another Disturbance and Arrest:”
“Judith Perez is the owner of Lovera VIP on Broad Street, and for the second time in a year, the club has been at the center of a disturbance either inside the club or just outside.
She comes from a famous family — her brother is the chief of Police in Providence, and her son is an admitted drug dealer — a major dealer.
On Saturday, Judith Perez’s Lovera VIP club parking lot was the location of a series of fights and the arrest of a Massachusetts man on a gun charge, according to police.
This is the second incident for Lovera in less than a year.”
