#12 Providence Rolls St. John’s 83-65
Sunday, January 03, 2016
The #12 (14-1, 2-0) Providence College Friars men's basketball team defeated the (7-8, 0-2) St. John's Red Storm 83-65 on Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Friars have now won 8 straight games, their longest winning streak since 1993-1994. That streak extended to the post season.
"Coming in, one day preparation, I'm proud of our guys and how we stayed locked in to some detail things. I thought we came out a little slow and then we got stagnant around the 14 minute mark of the second half but I was proud of our guys being able to withstand a couple of their runs, I just didn't think we were as relentless as we wanted to be for 40 minutes," said PC head coach Ed Cooley After the game.
