Monday, March 30, 2015
The Providence College Friars defeated Denver 4-1 in the NCAA Tournament's East Regional Final on Sunday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The win sends Providence to the Frozen Four for the first time since 1985.
Friars Cash in
Denver's Joey LaLeggia tied the game at one on a power play goal eight minutes into the third period after Providence took a 1-0 lead into the final frame.

The Friars would get a five minute power play and cash in when Tom Parisi fired a wrist shot from just above the face off circle that found it's way past Denver goaltender, Tanner Jaillett to put Providence up 2-1, with about six minutes to play.
Shutting the Door
Jon Gillies would shut the door the rest of the way for Providence as Brandon Tanev and Kevin Rooney would add two empty net goals to help seal the win.
Gillies stopped 23 of 24 shots between the pipes for the Friars while Jaillett stopped 20 of the 22 Friar shots.
On to the Frozen Four
Providence will now head to Boston for the Frozen Four where they will await the winner of RIT and Nebraska Omaha. No matter who wins, puck drop will be on Thursday, April 9 at 5 p.m. at the TD Garden.
