PC Basketball Rises 1 Spot to #14 in Country

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team has jumped up to number 14 in the country in both the AP poll and the coaches poll. This is the highest that PC has been ranked since being ranked 12th in the 2004 season
In the AP poll, Providence jumped just one spot from 15 to 14 are ranked behind Villanova and Arizona at 12 and 13 respectively. The Friars rank ahead of Miami and Baylor who sit at 15 and 16 respectively.
In the coaches poll, the Friars jumped four spots from 18 to 14 and sit behind Arizona and Villanova at 12 and 13 respectively. The Friars rank ahead of Baylor and Louisville who sit at 15 and 16 respectively.

Providence was ranked 12th last week in RPI and this week have fallen out of the top 25.
The RPI rankings measure the teams strength of schedule and is adjusted based on wins and losses and who those wins and losses come against.
PC is 10-1 on the season, their best start since 1989, and coming off a week in which they defeated Boston College and Bryant University at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

The #14 Friars return to action on Saturday, December 19 when they host Rider. Tip of is set for 8 p.m.
