Devin Carter continues to drive the Friars. Junior Carter leads the Big East in defensive rebounds at 6.9 per game (76 def. reb.).  On December 19, Carter scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four assists in the Friars' win over No. 6/6 Marquette.  He also made a career-best five three-pointers in the victory.  He ranks fifth in the conference in three-point field goals made (2.45, 27).

Butler comes into Providence with a 10-2 (1-0) record.

The Bulldogs' only losses are to Michigan State and Florida Atlantic. Butler handily beat Georgetown 74-64 in their Big East opener.

The game is on FS-1 at noon.

Less than a Thousand

The news at Rhode Island is far less positive. GoLocal sports columnist Jim Malachowski said that there were less than 1,000 fans in attendance at the Ryan Center for the Rams loss to the University of New Hampshire this week. URI has lost five in a row.

The Rams are now 5-7 after starting the season 3-0.

Brown Wins, Remains Last Ranked in the Ivy League

On Friday, the Brown Bears had a come-from-behind victory against Siena. The Bears are now 4-9 on the season — the worst record in the Ivy League. Princeton is now 11-1, and Cornell is 9-2 on the season.

Bryant Continues to Overcome the Chaos

Bryant moved to 8-6 with a Friday win over Drexel University. Bulldogs 104-86.

The Bulldogs have done well to move past the Jared Grasso coaching era of chaos.
