The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team was upset by a struggling Brown University 67-64 at the Ryan Center in Kingston.

Brown won despite not scoring a field goal in the last 6 minutes of the game.

Coming into the game, URI had come off a loss Saturday night to PC — a game in which the Ram had played the Friars close for 30 minutes.

In contrast, Brown entered Wednesday night's game at the Ryan Center just 2-8 (1-8 against D-I teams).

Brown led URI 32-54 at the half and opened an 11-point lead in the second half before a feverish Rhode Island attempt at a comeback.

In a bizarre twist of statistics, the Rams outshot the Bears 47% to 38% from the field. And URI outrebounded Brown 40-33.

But URI missed 16 free throws (15 of 31).

Brown’s Kino Lilly, Jr., led all scorers with 22 points.

Jaden House led URI with 16 points.
