Providence police are investigating a report of a carjacking in the city early Sunday morning.
It marks the latest in a spate of reported carjackings in the city this summer — in August, GoLocal reported “Carjacking Reported at India Point Saturday Night, Providence Police Investigating” and “Man Reportedly Carjacked, Hit on Head With Hammer - Incident Began in Heart of Federal Hill.”
Police also investigated a reported carjacking in late July.

Shortly after 3 AM Sunday morning, police responded to the area of Huntington and Homestead Avenues for a report of a carjacking.
Police met with the female vehicle owner who called in the report, who told police she saw a man dropped off by another car.
According to the victim, the male suspect — who was wearing a black ski mask — pointed a firearm at her and told her to get out of the vehicle.
The victim told police the suspect then drove away in her car with her personal belongings.
