Providence police are investigating a report of a carjacking in the city early Sunday morning.

It marks the latest in a spate of reported carjackings in the city this summer — in August, GoLocal reported “Carjacking Reported at India Point Saturday Night, Providence Police Investigating” and “Man Reportedly Carjacked, Hit on Head With Hammer - Incident Began in Heart of Federal Hill.”

Police also investigated a reported carjacking in late July.
