On Monday night, August 30 at approximately 9:35 PM, Cranston Police were alerted by the Flock license plate reader camera system that a white Honda CRV bearing a Maine registration was detected in an undisclosed portion of the city that was wanted in a violent armed carjacking incident in Providence and Massachusetts.

According to Cranston police, officers immediately responded and searched for the vehicle near the Warwick border and were unsuccessful in locating it. Approximately two hours later, Cranston police said they were again alerted by the Flock system that the same vehicle was back in the city in an undisclosed location. Attempts to locate the vehicle were unsuccessful as the vehicle was moving around at a very brisk pace avoiding detection. It was later learned the vehicle was occupied by Noel Rodriguez and George Santana as they were out speeding from city to city looking for victims.

A few hours later, early on the morning of Tuesday, August 31 -- after the second Flock notification -- officers received a 911 call from Whipple Avenue in Cranston. A male victim stated that he was robbed at gunpoint by two males and pistol-whipped causing lacerations to his head as he was getting out of his vehicle.

After being robbed, he told police the two suspects fled with his Iphone and cash. Further investigation confirmed that Santana and Rodriguez approached the victim as he was getting out of his vehicle. According to the victim, Santana threatened the victim to hand over his cash and iPhone then pistol-whipping him on the head. The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital due to his head injuries.

As officers were investigating the previous incident, shortly thereafter, at 3:00 AM they received another 911 call from Vinton Avenue that these same suspects were responsible for pistol-whipping a male victim who was bleeding heavily and then assaulting his pregnant wife, before stealing their new white Mercedes and fleeing.

Cranston Police immediately broadcast the information to surrounding cities including Warwick Police since they believed they were nearby as a result of the Flock notifications and location of the second incident.

Warwick Police notified Cranston PD shortly thereafter that they had located the vehicles that were broadcast at the Motel 6 off of Jefferson Boulevard. Police responded to the Motel 6 in Warwick and after several hours the suspects were extracted by Warwick and Cranston Police. Warwick Police have several charges associated with the cases in Cranston and both suspects were later turned over to Cranston Police Detectives.

Both suspects were interviewed by several departments including Cranston Police, Warwick Police, Providence Police, Massachusetts State Police and Killingly-Connecticut Police.

At this time these suspects have been implicated in armed robberies, violent assaults, vehicle thefts, larcenies and other crimes throughout the region including Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
