Providence Police Deputy Chief Verdi Retiring After 35 Years

Deputy Chief Thomas A. Verdi on Thursday announced his retirement from the Providence Police Department after 35 years of service to the department and the citizens of the City of Providence.
“I salute Commander Tom Verdi on a career full of a number of great accolades. He had a perpetual work ethic and a love for the job and the city,” said Colonel Hugh T. Clements, Jr. “He will undoubtably rise to other challenges and opportunities. We wish Tom and his family the very best.”
“Commander Verdi has worked in many leadership and supervisory roles within the department throughout his 35-year career at the Providence Police Department,” said Commissioner of Public Safety Steven M. Paré. “He has led the department with pride and I wish him the very best in his future endeavors and thank him for his over three decades of service.”
