Shortly after 1 AM, police responded to the PC Security Office for the report of the robbery.

The victim — a 22-year-old male — said he was leaving the Old Irish Social Club on Douglas Avenue shortly after midnight, when he noticed he was being followed by two men.

The victim told police that one of the men threw a bottle at him before they both began to run towards him.

According to police, when the two suspects caught up to him, one put a gun to his back, and demanded his belongings — and threatened to shoot him if he did not comply.

The victim said once he got away he went to campus police and provided descriptions of the suspects.

Providence police, on the lookout for the suspects, said they later found — and arrested — Elijah Vazquez, age 18.

Vazquez was reportedly in possession of a gun at the time he was located, before he discarded the weapon and attempted to flee police prior to being apprehended.

Police say the second suspect in conjunction with the incident is a 15-year-old male.

"Earlier this morning, one of our students was robbed at gun point (with a bb gun) on Douglas Avenue by two suspects not affiliated with the College. Our student is safe and unharmed, and the perpetrators were swiftly apprehended in a coordinated effort involving the College's Office of Public Safety and Providence Police," said Steve Maurano, PC's Vice President for Public Affairs.
