I keep hearing how busy everyone is, and they aren't sure that they can fit working out into their schedule.

My answer: Make it fit your schedule. Actually, make it be part of your schedule.

It's very easy to miss workouts, but it's also easy to get them in when you make them part of your everyday lifestyle.

When you write things in your calendar, they get done!!

Delegate a time - 3x per week and make it work.

Treat your workouts with as much priority as you would a doctor’s appointment.

You wouldn’t cancel an appointment like that for some lame reason, so you need to ruthlessly protect your time when it comes to your health and fitness routine as well.

At Providence Fit Body Boot Camp, we run 7 sessions daily Mon-Fri from 5:20 am until 6:30 pm, so unless you are working 13 hours a day (some do, most don't) you have very little excuse not to be fit and healthy, unless it's not that important to you.

We also offer zoom virtual sessions so you can workout at home if needed.

We have close to 100 members in here daily, getting it done, and guess what?

Most have careers, kids, family obligations, and dogs to take care of, however, they still find a way to get to the gym and take care of themselves.

If you are reading this, you are either on my email list, Facebook page, or reading my go local column, so at some point in time, you were interested in some degree about how to get fit or healthy. Otherwise, why would you waste your time reading my stuff?

So, if you read my column, and you are not fit, or aren't on a path to do so, why not?

I guarantee we can help you regardless of your shape, size, or ability level.

Stop right there!! Don't say it!! Don’t tell me you don’t have the time.

Don’t say working out isn’t for you. And don’t say you can’t afford it.

Because you can and you need to, and I am going to shoot holes in every excuse you can come up with, so please read on.

The whole-time thing: You pick your kids up from school daily. Have you ever told them to fend for themselves and walk home because you don’t have time to pick them up today? Most likely not.

Have you ever not provided the family dinner because you didn’t have time? Maybe you pick up take out or make something quick when you had a busy day, but you still fed everyone and got it done.

Why is this?

Because the things we make a priority in life, get done, and health and fitness should be no different.

Unless you work an incredibly physical job, you need to move and exercise, and that is reason enough to make it a priority and program it into your schedule.

Random acts of exercise aren’t good enough.

You need to be consistent and embed it into your lifestyle. I see it daily. The clients that live it, get better results than the ones that are not consistent. Every bit is positive, but when you want outstanding results, you need to devote the time, and be consistent.

I am not an exercise person!!  What the hell is that supposed to mean? Exercise is nothing more than functional movement. We just do it at a higher intensity to overload the body, create resistance, and elevate the heart rate, but it’s still basic movements we normally perform every day.

We need to increase the intensity to achieve results and push ourselves out of our comfort zone, but the principle is to mimic daily life, so you will not only be fit, and functional, but also more productive.

When you say you aren’t an exercise person, you are just giving yourself an identity to cover the excuse that you don’t want to improve yourself and your current health situation.

Disclaimer, if you have an injury, or in any condition that legitimately won’t allow you to exercise, you are exempt from my badgering.

I can’t afford it. I love this one!  The first thing I say to that is: If you have cable tv, a smartphone, or a vehicle with tons of options, you can afford to join a gym. You are making an investment in your health, and most can’t afford NOT TO.

Cable tv makes you sit around and do nothing but be lazy. (Guilty) This is not a necessity in anyone’s life, but almost everyone has it. And not just the basics either. All those premium stations cost a lot of money, so don’t say you can’t afford the gym when you have a premium bundle of senseless options.

Smartphones cost a bunch too, but if you want one, I guarantee you will find a way to get one whether you can afford it or not.

So, all the reasons like time, money, and the fact you don’t like to exercise, are just excuses that are going to keep you overweight and unhealthy.

It’s all about the mindset.

Nutrition

Because when you want something bad enough, human nature makes us find a way to go out and get it.

Do you really want to be fit and healthy? If the answer is yes, then go to www.provfitbody.com and sign up for 3 free workouts.

We are here to help you overcome everything that gets in your way with fast efficient workouts and simple-to-follow nutrition plans.

If you don’t, that’s ok too, just leave the other excuses on the shelf, be honest with yourself, and stop saying you don’t have the time, ability or resources to get it done, because in all reality you do.

My final question to you is: How bad do you want it??

Committed to helping people change their lives,

Matt
