Fit for Life: This Word Will Make or Break You
Saturday, October 24, 2020
When it's cold and rainy it gets you to the gym.
It will also get you there on nice sunny days, when you want to be outside.
When you are tired and unmotivated, it helps you put on your sneakers.

It is to me the most important part of human nature, it dictates who we are, and defines our character and success in everything we do.
Without it we will never reach our goals, and no workout or nutrition program will ever work, or be effective.
The character trait being described is discipline.
The ones with the most are obvious and are usually the ones succeeding.
I always tell my members that even though they join our community, I can't help them unless they supply some discipline.
We are only with our members in person 1/2 hour per day, out of 24, so it’s super important what they do the other 23.5 hours daily.
Discipline is needed.
Although we do a tremendous job reaching out to our members and keeping them engaged with their community, discipline must be in their routine in order to become successful with any program.
Some like the gym to socialize, and some actually like to work out.
Others hate exercise all together, but still endure the misery because they know that it is beneficial.
They are the ones that have the most discipline because doing the things that you don’t like to do requires tons of it.
The same thing applies to our livelihood. The ones with the most discipline, willing to put in the hard work and long hours are the ones that become more successful.
Discipline is always the first step.
Like I mentioned earlier, getting out of bed is the first step in exercising our discipline, then we need to build strong disciplined habits from there.
Here is the official definition and decide if it applies to you:
Discipline: dis·ci·pline (ds-pln)
n.
1. Training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces moral or mental improvement.
2. Controlled behavior resulting from disciplinary training; self-control.
a. Control obtained by enforcing compliance or order.
b. A systematic method to obtain obedience: a military discipline.
3. A branch of knowledge or teaching.
discipline [ˈdɪsɪplɪn]
n
1. training or conditions imposed for the improvement of physical powers, self-control, etc.
2. (Social Science / Education) systematic training in obedience to regulations and authority
3. the state of improved behavior, etc., resulting from such training or conditions
5. a system of rules for behavior, methods of practice, etc.
6. (Social Science / Education) a branch of learning or instruction
7. to improve or attempt to improve the behavior, orderliness, etc., of by training, conditions, or rules
We as humans all have different levels of self-discipline.
It is important or should I say imperative to have a high level in order to be fit and healthy, due to all the obstacles we face in life.
It is even more imperative to have high levels of it to survive financially in this day and age, because many people are reaching the burnout point trying to stay alive and above water.
You can acquire more of it if you practice or exercise it by setting small attainable goals, then progress on to bigger and more important ones. It starts with programming your mind to succeed.
After you envision where you want to be, reverse engineer your big plan, create steps to get there, and do the work required to reach your goal.
Nothing good in life comes easy. It takes long hours, hard work, and consistency and at the root of it all comes discipline. Lots of it!!
Committed to your success,
Matt
