10 Great Things to do in RI This Weekend - September 30, 2016

Food Truck Friday
It's Food Truck Friday at Roger Williams Park Zoo at Carousel Village from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Enjoy great food, live music and a beer garden tonight and every Friday until October 28.
The event is free to attend, but there are nominal fees to ride the carousel, participate in pony rides, or to enjoy the bounce house.

Bring Your Own Improv Family Friendly Comedy Show
Bring Your Own Improv is in it's 9th season at the Warwick Museum of Art. The show is an interactive show that is fun for the entire family and encourages audience participation.
The show goes from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors, military & Children 12 and under.

Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers Silent Auction at Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's Flames of Hope Weekend at Waterfire.
On Saturday from 2 p.m.-11 p.m., there will be a silent auction of collectibles, art, and also opportunities such as gift certificates for dinners in RI. Head over throughout the Flames of Hope event and place your bid. Maybe you will walk away with something cool.
You can also bring down an item for an estimate or evaluation. While you are there, get your complimentary tickets to the RI Home Show (a $10/ea value), and, WALK THE PINK CARPET and have your photo taken with a "Superhero Cosplayer."

35th Governor's Cup: Brown at URI
The Brown Bears visit the URI Rams for the 35th playing of the Governor's Cup. Kick off is set for noon time.
Brown will be looking to win their sixth straight Governor's Cup, while the Rams win would be their first of the season.

The Hope Street Farmers market takes place at Lippit Park starting at 9 a.m. on Saturdays.

Wakefield Riverfest - Oktoberfest Celebration
Now in its fifth year, the Wakfield Riverfest - Oktoberfest Celebration brings great food, local breweries, live music, games, and entertainment.
The festival takes place on Main Street in Wakefield and runs from noon to 9 p.m.
Admission is FREE.

8th Annual Afrika Nyaga Drum & Dance Festival at Kennedy Plaza
The festival showcases the music and dance of Africa and the diaspora. There will be performances by Afriamanding & Sidy Maiga – a PVD FEST headliner from 2016 – as well as dancers, storytellers, and much more!
Burnside Park will be full of music, dance, food, storytelling and activities for all ages.
The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is FREE to attend.

Gloria Gemma Flames of Hope Waterfire
Waterfire is always a special event in Providence and all of Rhode Island, but this weekend there is an added sense of meaning to it as Gloria Gemma and others who have fought or are fighting cancer will be remembered and celebrated.
The Waterfire begins at 7:30 p.m.
