Tedeschi Trucks Band at PPAC
Tedeschi Trucks Band brings their Wheels of Soul tour to the Providence Performing Arts Center on Friday night.
Formed in 2010, the group is led by married couple Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. Their first album, Revelator (2011), won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album.
The concert will feature special guests The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna.
Showtime is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Music Man at Theatre by the Sea
An American classic, the Music Man will be on stage at Theatre by the Sea.
The show tells the story of the fast-talking salesman, Harold Hill, who cons the good folks of River City, Iowa, into believing that he can teach their children to play in a marching band.

Pablo Francisco at Comedy Connection
Francisco is one of the most popular touring comedians worldwide. He has earned a reputation for his unique talent to weave together his one of a kind arsenal of off the wall characters and spot-on impressions.
Francisco’s two Comedy Central one hour comedy specials “They Put It Out There” and “Ouch!” continue to stay on the networks most requested list. Later this year his stand-up will be featured on MTV’s new show “Acting Out.”

Jesse Colin Young Live at Courthouse Center for Arts
Jesse Colin Young was the founding member and lead singer of the 1960s band the Youngbloods.
Young left the group in 1972 and released a solo album, Together. His fourth solo album, Song for Juli, released in 1973, included four singles and remained on the Billboard Top 200 chart for months. He recorded the albums American Dreams in 1978, The Perfect Stranger in 1982, and The Highway Is for Heroes in 1987.
Don't miss his debut at Courthouse Center for Arts.
The show goes from 8:00 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Womanination 2017 at AS220
Womanimation, the premiere showcase in the United States of international women’s animated short films, returns for a special one-day only engagement at AS220.
The show blends styles like traditional 2-d, stop motion, and computer animation offering local audiences to sample the world of women's animation, presenting compelling narratives with distinctive viewpoints.
The show runs from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Community Players - "You Can't Take It With You” at Jenks Auditorium
"Meet the Sycamore family, a collection of lovably eccentric incompetents, who keep a printing press in the parlor, manufacture fireworks in the basement, are friends with an ex-Grand Duchess, and include a Grandpa who does not believe in paying taxes. When daughter Alice falls in love with straight-laced Tony Kirby and invites his conservative, high society parents to dinner, she orders her family to "ordinary up", which means act like normal people. As with most things in this wacky family, things don't go exactly as planned."
