"Greater Tuna" at Newport Playhouse and Cabaret Restaurant
The long-running Off-Broadway hit features two actors creating the entire population of Tuna in a tour de farce of quick-change artistry, changing costumes and characterizations faster than a jackrabbit runs from a coyote.
Two actors, twenty characters, and a barrel of laughs, y’all.

Winter Exhibitions Opening Reception at Newport Art Museum
This exhibition showcases a selection of prints and drawings from the Museum’s treasured collection of works on paper.
The Newport Art Museum owns over 1200 prints and drawings dating from the nineteenth-century to present and include exemplary works of American art and a small collection of Japanese prints.
The exhibition begins at 5 p.m.

Saturday is the final day of skating at the Gurney's ice rink before it closes for the year.

Cheese Masterclass a& Cheese Pairing Dinner at The Vanderbilt Grill
This is a guided tour of the Mediterranean with Cheese expert Michele Buster, head treasure hunter of Forever Cheese Inc., an importer of unique high-quality cheeses and specialty foods from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Croatia. Michele will lead a tasting of 6 cheeses as well as pairing them with some specialty accompaniments.
There will be a special guest appearance by Chef Cesare Casella, renowned chef who now uses heritage pigs to make prosciutto and other salami locally in Rhode Island.

A Conversation with Ann Hood at Salve Regina
Salve Regina University invites the community to participate in an afternoon of writing and conversation with New York Times best-selling author Ann Hood.
The free event consists of a reading by Hood, who shares her journey from reader to writer, followed by a short writing exercise and discussion.
Hood’s books will be available for sale and signing after the conversation.
The conversation goes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Irish Tenor Ronan Tynan at Jane Pickens Theater
Tynan was part of the Irish Tenors re-joining in 2011 while continuing to pursue his solo career since May 2004.
In the United States, audiences know him for his involvement with that vocal group and for his renditions of "God Bless America."
Tynan is also known for participating in the 1984 and 1988 Summer Paralympics.
The show will begin at 3 p.m.
