Tavon Blackmon helps lead Brown

The Brown Bears (3-5) defeated the (2-7) Bryant Bulldogs 76-68 on Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center on Bryant's campus. Brown has now won two straight games while Bryant has dropped their last six.

Brown led at the half 33-25 but saw their lead cut to only five points after Bryant opened the half knocking down their first three shots and a mini 5-2 run.

However, Brown would get it all right back, answering with a 8-3 run over the next three minutes to go up 43-33. That 8-3 run turned into a 24-7 run and put the Bears up 59-37 with just under 12 minutes to play.

Bryant would get as close eight, 68-60, with 1:21 to play but would not get any closer.

The Leaders

Brown was led by Tavon Blackmon and Justin Massey with 19 points each. Cedric Kuakumensah followed up with 14 points.

Bryant was led by Nisre Zouzoua who poured in 18 points on 5 of 14 shooting from the field.

Next Up

Brown returns to action on Monday, December 7th when they visit Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

Bryant returns to action on Tuesday, December 8th when they host Army at the Chace Athletic Center. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

Nisre Zouzoua

Impressive performance from Nisre Zouzoua who led Bryant with 18 points on 5 of 14 shooting from the field, including 4 of 11 from three-point land.

This was Zouzoua's highest point total since November 18, when he posted 23 against Emerson.

Dan Garvin

Dan Garvin was a force in this game, grabbing 16 rebounds while pouring in 12 points on 3 of 11 shooting from the field and 8 of 9 from the free throw line.

The double-double is Garvin's first of the season.

Garvin also blocked two shots, giving him 96 in his career.

Bryant's 3-point struggle

Bryant once again struggled from three-point land. The Bulldogs went 6 of 26 from behind the arc for a percentage of 23. Bryant didn't make a three-pointer in the first half.

On the season, the Bulldogs are now shooting 27 % from three.

Justin Massey

Justin Massey co-led the Bears with 19 points in the game on 7 of 13 shooting from the field, including 4 of 8 from three-point land.

The 19 points is a season high for Massey. His previous season high as 16 points against SMU.

Massey also grabe five rebounds and had two steals.

Tavon Blackmon

Tavon Blackmon co-led the Bears with 19 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field and 8 of 11 from the free throw line.

Blackmon has now reached double figures in two straight games for the Bears. Both of those games were Brown Wins
