Steve King named new hockey coach at Moses Brown

Moses Brown School has announced that Steve King will be the new Quakers ice hockey coach.

“I am very excited that Steve is joining the Moses Brown program and know our players and families will enjoy his professionalism, spirit, and passion for the game," said Director of Athletics Jeff Maidment.

King played at both Hendricken High School and Brown University before going professional career in the AHL and the NHL.

King as a Pro

Professionally, King saw time with the Providence Bruins, New York Rangers, and Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

King totaled 17 goals, four game winning goals, and eight assists in 67 career NHL games.

Coaching Career

Most recently, King has been a coach in the Providence Capitals organization and has coached at Brown University as well.

King replaced previous head coach Lou Izzi, who is now at New England College.

Moses Brown open's their 2015-16 hockey season on November 28 against North Yarmouth Academy in Maine.
