Bryant Eliminated From NEC Title Contention After Loss to Sacred Heart

The Bryant Bulldogs (5-5,3-2 NEC) fell 28-19 to (5-5, 2-3 NEC) to Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium. The loss eliminates Bryant from NEC title contention. 

How it Went Down 

The Bulldogs went up 10-0 after Dalton Easton found Ryan Barrett on a seven yard pass  with one minute left in the first quarter.

However, from that point, Sacred Heart would scored 21 straight points to take a 21-10 lead in to the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs cut their deficit to 21-19 after a Dalton Easton one yard run but failed on the two point conversion try. 

Sacred heart sealed the game on an RJ Noel four yard run with five minutes to go to put Sacred heart up 28-19. 

Notable Stats 

Bryant's Ricardo McCray had 34 carries for 182 yards to lead all running backs. 

However, it was the turnovers that proved costly. Dalton Easton threw four interceptions, backup quarterback Kyle Jennings threw an interception  and the Bulldogs lost one of their three fumbles in the game. 

Closing the Season

Bryant will look to end the season on a positive note when they visit Robert Morris next Saturday. 

Kick off is set for 12 p.m.
