About Incident

Police on patrol on Atwells Avenue said that at approximately 12:30 AM, they saw a car with heavy window tint as well as a tinted license plate cover.

According to police, the patrol vehicle activated its lights for a traffic stop, and after the car drove for a short distance,  it finally pulled over on the 400 block of Atwells Avenue.

At that time, police heard over the scanner that shots had been heard in the area.

Police that due to the window tint — and refusal to stop right away — they asked the driver, later identified as Mouen Meas, age 27, to step outside; a search of the vehicle found a handgun with live rounds in the magazine.

The firearm and magazine were delivered to BCI.

Meas currently faces gun and multiple traffic charges.
