Shots Reported by 7-Eleven Clerk in Providence — Shell Casings Found Off North Main

Providence Police are investigating multiple reports of shots fired in the city.

On Tuesday, shortly after 6 PM, police responded to 460 Smith Street for multiple calls for shots fired.
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTUpon arrival, police spoke with the clerk at 7-Eleven, who told police that there were three male subjects inside of the store who left and got into a vehicle on the far side of the parking lot.
He then heard several gunshots coming from the vehicle and observed a male subject in dark clothing fleeing down Smith Street.
Police spoke to several other subjects in the area who stated they heard the gunshots but did not observe anything. Police canvased the area but were unable to locate a scene at this time.
Casings Found on North Main
Police responded just after 5:45 PM on Monday to the area of 909 North Main Street for a report of shots fired.
Police were advised upon arrival that shots were heard from the rear of the building from the address stated above.
Police were able to locate a scene in the roadway in front of 13 Woodbine Street, where they observed four spent 9mm shell casings.
