Providence Police Respond to Reports of Kidnapping and Robbery, Shots Fired on Thursday

Providence Police responded to a report of kidnapping and robbery -- and shots fired -- in the city on Thursday.
Kidnapping and Robbery Reported
Shortly before 1 AM on Thursday, police the report of suspicious activity on Cumerford Street.

Police then questioned them as to what occurred, and on subject responded that he arrived home from work and went to open the gate to his driveway when he was approached by approximately six male subjects. These male subjects later grabbed onto him, and one male subject placed a knife to his stomach and told him not to move.
They then pulled the victim into the rear of a vehicle, and another unknown subject got into his own vehicle. The victim stated the residence had video surveillance of the incident that had occurred.
The victim then stated they left Cumerford Street, and demanded $1500 from him. The victim contacted his cousin for the money, and said the assailants eventually threatened him with a firearm held to his head, was told to have the amount in full by the morning.
After talking with the victims, police were able to locate the car involved in the kidnapping on Cranston Street, and apprehended two suspects. Police also located a black BB Gun known as a Wei-ETech.
Shootings
Shortly after 7 PM on Thursday, Providence police reported that eighteen rounds were discharged from semi-automatic pistol(s) near the intersection of Admiral Street and Wanskuck Street.
As a result, houses on Admiral Street and Burns Street were struck. It is unclear what the intended target was at this time.
In a seperate incident around 7 PM, police were dispatched to Burns Street for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police met with a woman and her son who reported that they heard approximately nine gun shots near their house and discovered that their house had been struck at least two times.
Police observed one bullet hole underneath the front right window of the house and one bullet hole on the left side of the house.
While at the scene, police were also approached by a man who lives next door, who reported that he came home to find a bullet hole in his living room wall and ceiling. Police then spoke to his daughter who was home during the incident. She reported that she heard approximately 2-3 gun shots outside the house.
Police searched the area and discovered multiple shell casing at the intersection of Admiral Street and Wanskuck Street.
