Man in Critical Condition Following Stabbing in Providence - Third Stabbing in City in 2 Days

Providence police are investigating a stabbing in downtown Providence Wednesday morning.

The incident took place at Kennedy Plaza, one of the city's central transportation hubs and directly in front of City Hall and adjacent to hotels, stores, and restaurants. 

It is the third stabbing at Kennedy Plaza in just over a month.

On Wednesday, August 11, police responded to a stabbing on a RIPTA bus. 

On Friday, July 16, a man was stabbed in Kennedy Plaza

About Wednesday's Incident

The incident comes after police responded to two stabbings in the city on Monday.

According to police, the victim is currently in critical condition and undergoing surgery at Rhode Island Hospital.
