National Weather Service: Strong To Severe Thunderstorms, Large Hail Possible Today in Prov

The National Weather Service has issued a"hazardous weather outlook" for Providence Weds. afternoon and evening -- with strong thunderstorms and hail possible. The weather service estimates that there is a 60% chance of storms this afternoon and a 30% chance at night.
"Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Increasing clouds, with a high near 71. West wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms," said the Weather Service on their website.
For tonight, they added, "Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. West wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms."

CONNECTICUT...RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTH OF THE PIKE IN MASSACHUSETTS.
