NEW: Rep. Nunes Asks Raimondo to Declare State of Emergency in Wake of Storm

Rep. Jared Nunes has called for Governor Gina Raimondo to declare a state of emergency in the towns of Coventry and West Warwick, along with the city of Warwick in the wake of a storm that did severe damage to those communities.
“These three communities were hit severely by the storm, and the hardships these families and businesses are going through are devastating. If we had a disaster declaration for these three areas, the assistance with the cost of cleanup would soften the blow to many of these residents," said Representative Nunes.
Rep. Nunes has received several calls from constituents seeking advice and assistance to through the difficult situation. The Kent County communities some of the worst damage in the state from the Tuesday storm and several are still without power.

Some have been shut down for days.
Others have a lot of spoiled food. We should do what we can to see if the state can step forward and lend support to those businesses and individuals who suffered traumatic hardships with this storm," said Nunes.
