Newest Storm Update

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS) states, “Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between 14 and 21 inches. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph.”

Further, NWS states, "Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may bring down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult or impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage."

"Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle," adds the NWS.

The NWS says the storm will continue throughout Monday and into the evening.

Governor Dan McKee has declared a State of Emergency and closed all state roads to non-emergency vehicles.
