A Memory of Elephants Opening Reception at ArtProv Gallery
“A Memory of Elephants” features works from Patricia Hansen's mother/child elephant series that evolved from her journey in northern Thailand.
The reception goes from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Diana Ross at PPAC
Ross is considered the most successful recording artist and entertainer of all time. President Obama said “she exudes glamour & grace, her influence is inescapable” as he presented her with a Medal of Freedom Award, the most prestigious award given to a U.S. citizen.
Ross’ international achievements were acknowledged by the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors in Washington DC (2007). The honor celebrated her lustrous career of excellence in music, film, television and theatre, as well as her cultural influences, humanitarian work and her contributions to American culture. The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences celebrated her remarkable career with its highest honor, The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo
This year’s show includes more than 5,000 intricately carved pumpkins featuring scenes of wizards, fairytales, and the luminaries of great myths and legends, alongside superheroes, and historical figures who changed our world.
The event goes from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. with last admission being at 10 p.m.

International Oktoberfest at Bold Point Park
The festival includes Biergartens featuring dozens of seasonal, craft, imported and local brews, autumnal libations, food trucks offering traditional German favorites and festival fare, as well as, Bavarian/American entertainment.
The festival goes from noon to 8 p.m.

Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Growers Weigh Off at Frerichs Farm
This is a very family oriented event. Last year the biggest pumpkin weigh 1914lbs..what will this year bring? There is a free corn maze, pirate ship and western town for the kids to play in.
They have pumpkin painting and build your own scarecow for a small fee.
The event goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Horse Feathers at Columbus Theatre
Horse Feathers will be performing at the Columbus Theatre on Saturday night.

Scituate Art Festival
The Scituate Art Festival features 200 juried art and craft exhibitors, select antique vendors, a food court offering regional specialties, live musical entertainment and a huge art/craft/antique raffle.

Columbus Day Festival on Federal Hill
The festival has been recognized as one of the best Columbus Day Festivals to attend, with great food and entertainment.
The festival is filled with great music and even better food, the Columbus Day Festival is a fall event to look forward to every season.
The Annual Columbus Day Parade will take place on Sunday, October 7 at 11 a.m.

40th Annual Woonsocket Autumnfest
Held over the Columbus Day Weekend, Autumnfest began in 1977 as an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the spirit of Northern Rhode Island.

Pride and Prejudice at Trinity Rep
The season begins with a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice by Kate Hamill. This playful and comedic adaptation of Austen’s much-beloved novel runs. The play premiered in 2017 and has quickly become one of the most popular new plays for regional theaters around the country.
The adaptation remains true to Austen’s story while infusing a new sense of hilarity and effervescence.
