Algiers With La Neve, Creamer, And Light Beams at Machines with Magnets

Algiers pulls from a divergent number of musical (and nonmusical) influences; the most notable of which being post-punk, gospel music, Southern Gothic literature and the concept of the Other. Their sound has been described as "dystopian soul" due to its somber mood, afrofolk inspired vocal approach, and heavy emphasis on atonal textures. The band will be joined by locals La Neve, Iris Creamer. DC dance trio Light Beams will also perform. 

The show goes from 7:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Watercolor Workshop at Watson Farm 

Artist Vicki Iannuccillo presents a full-day watercolor workshop. After a one-hour demonstration of landscape painting, set up your materials and capture the many facets of the farm buildings, stone walls, and gardens on the grounds. Vicki can offer guidance on composition, lighting, and painting techniques.

Please bring painting materials and a bag lunch. Open to all levels of experience.

The workshop goes from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

1st Annual Wish & Wellness Challenge at Goddard Memorial Park 

The competitive, speed-based event will be made up of a mix of puzzles, trivia, obstacles and relay races. Teams consisting of 4 members will compete for a chance to win the grand CASH prize!

The Wish & Wellness Challenge will also include a raffle and silent auction to help support Children’s Wishes and our mission to provide life-enhancing experiences to children facing major medical challenges. Local food trucks and other businesses will be on-site for all your refreshment needs.
