Join Director of Horticulture Fred Perry for a walk through the Arboretum to admire Blithewold’s prized tree collection.
Perry will talk about a variety of examples from our unique collection on the educational and enjoyable walk.

Cemetery Walk at Museum of Natural History and Planetarium
Museum docent and archivist Richard Siembab will lead a special walking tour of the historic Williams family cemetery in Roger Williams Park. Learn exactly who is buried here and what those curious symbols on the headstones really mean.
Richard, a longtime member of the Association of Gravestone Studies, will bring a wealth of knowledge to this frequently overlooked park culture resource. Pets are not permitted on walking tours.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Gaspee Days Arts & Crafts Festival is a free, fun, and family-friendly experience that showcases over 100 fine artisans, community groups, and non-profits where you will find one-of-a-kind arts and delicious craft fair eats.

Hope Street Farmers Market at Lippitt Memorial Park
The Hope Street Farmers Market is a farmer-run cooperative created and managed by many of the best farmers and food artisans in Rhode Island.
They sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, cheese, breads and pastries, pasture-raised meats, seafood, poultry and eggs, and many other items that we grow, make or raise ourselves.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Warwick Symphony Orchestra at the Movies #2 at Goddard Park
Warwick Symphony Orchestra will feature music from Forrest Gump, Chicago, Fantastic Beasts, The Godfather, Grease, Pirates of the Caribbean, Wizard of Oz, and more, plus classical works used in film including Rossini’s Overture to “William Tell” and Stravinsky’s Berceuse and Finale from “Firebird.”
The event begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.

When Johnny Comes Marching Home: A Memorial Brass Concert at Blithewold Mansion
We remember all who have answered the call to serve our country, including many members of Blithewold’s original family.
This Memorial Day weekend, please join us for a special brass performance by the Renaissance V Brass Quintet.

Memorial Day Parade at Chase Farm
The Lincoln Memorial Day Parade is an opportunity for our community to honor those who gave everything for freedom and country.
Parade steps off at Smithfield Avenue and marches along Higginson Avenue, Walker Street, Chapel Street and ending on Great Road.

Boots On The Ground For Heroes Memorial at Fort Adams
In 2016, OSDRI launched the Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial with the widely acclaimed and dramatic display of nearly 7,000 military boots. Each boot is adorned with a name placard and an American flag representing each American service member killed in action in the Global War on Terror.
The first of its kind, the display garnered local and national news coverage for the past two years and sadly, the memorial continues to grow in size each year.
The event goes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
