Hurney Joins Residential Properties
Residential Properties Ltd. announces that Sales Associate Natalie Hurney has joined the team of real estate experts at our Newport office. Born in Newport, raised in Portsmouth, and a graduate of Portsmouth High School, her roots and connections on Aquidneck Island are profound. While earning her degree in finance from Rhode Island College, Natalie studied abroad in Australia at Bond University, providing not only valuable life experience, but also deepening her love of people and her desire to help others. As the daughter of hardworking parents who own three Edible Arrangements® franchises locally, she inherited an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to surpass the competition.
Bona fide customer service skills
Natalie earned top-to-bottom experience within her parents’ businesses, accumulating 15+ years in retail and customer service. This included seven years in management as the general manager of five locations, overseeing 100 employees delivering gifts all over RI – a state she remains totally in love with. “I enjoyed where I grew up so much that my husband and I bought my parents’ house so I can raise my kids in the same place,” Hurney said. “The restorative nature of the sea has been well known through the ages. The beauty of Aquidneck Island and the nearby coast amazes me every day. Anytime I have a problem, all I have to do is head down to the ocean.”
Growing up with enterprising parents who worked hard for success, Natalie gravitated to Residential Properties, a woman-owned, locally managed, family business, but beyond that, her research into the company and its leadership made her agency choice clear. “It is imperative to work for a company where people only have nice things to say about ‘the boss’ and management,” Hurney added. “From day one, everyone at RPL said you can always call Sally, which is a big deal. Having direct, open communication, horizontal collaboration, and even contact with the owner is what makes this an amazing company to work for.”
Semper fi in RI real estate
Married to a Marine Corps veteran, she guides her personal and professional lives with utmost discipline and a profound sense of duty. As a devoted mother of two, Natalie understands the importance of finding the perfect home to suit your family's unique needs. She is entrenched in the community as an active member of many so-called mom groups on the island, though many local children know her best as their figure skating coach.
Spending time to map out her new career, she looks forward to helping everyone in her community achieve their homeownership goals. Certified for Military on the Move and as a Relocation Specialist, Natalie has the personal experience and expertise to make the journey a successful one. “I would like to learn as much as possible and am eager to help people find their dream home,” Hurney said. “Buying a home is one of the most exciting events in your life. I found my dream home and am excited to spend my career paying it forward to my clients.”
