Dr. Mark Zimmerman, Chief of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, and Dr. Tracy Morgan, Assistant Director of our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) are pleased to announce the addition of:

        - Dr. Douglas Long, Ph.D., has clinical expertise in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach that has been shown to help people faced with a variety of mental illnesses to reduce stress and quality of life.  He also has extensive training in related approaches such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
        - Dr. Olga Obraztsova, Ph.D., who has clinical expertise in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), working with young adults, and evidence-based treatment of emotion regulation difficulties.
        - Deirdre Gale, LMHC, has clinical expertise in group therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and related evidence-based treatment models.
        - Dr. Talya Benoff, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience working in both outpatient and hospital-based acute care settings.  She treats a broad array of conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, and also has expertise in assessing and treating patients with co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions.

Angelique Moore and Ashley Lussier, have joined the team as Patient Access Coordinators.

With these additions to the IOP team, we will be able to expand our daily census by 100% as we continue to deliver excellent evidence-based care for those in need of a higher level of care than traditional outpatient treatment can provide. Our IOP provides intensive treatment for individuals with acute psychiatric conditions who are struggling to fulfill their usual daily responsibilities either at home or work. The goal of treatment is to reduce the intensity and frequency of symptoms and resume or reconnect with valued activities such as employment, caregiving, child care, and/or keeping up with household chores. In addition to the expansion of IOP program, SCP would also like to announce the addition of:

        - Susan Ramsey, PhD, joins SCP in a clinical per diem position with extensive research and clinical experience in work with substance use and health psychology.
        - Elaine Walen, PsyD joins SCP in a full-time capacity to expand our Neuropsychology services.
        - Macayla Casey, who joins SCP in a role as Human Resources Generalist.

Dr. Anthony Gallo, the CEO of South County Psychiatry, said, "Since Dr Zimmerman joined us in May, our IOP program has quickly become known for being of the highest quality care nationally. Because of this success, we are pleased to announce an expansion in our program to help continue to improve access to our community during a time when this is so desperately needed. ”

Jim Florio, Jr., the Chief Operating Officer of South County Psychiatry, said, “It is truly amazing to see the growth over the last year at SCP as we continue to become the best psychiatry, behavioral health, and weight and wellness enterprise in the region.  Our focus continues to be to hire high-quality providers and administrators who can help us achieve delivering the best possible care and service to those in our community.”
