Nail Communications has promoted two employees, according to Partner Jeanette Palmer of the advertising, design, and branding communications agency. Christine Grayton now holds the title of Senior Account Manager and Simon Allen becomes Senior Creative/Animator.

Allen joined Nail in 2020 with animation and commercial fabrication experience, having worked for Hornet Studio, MoSoMos, Shape and Shadow, and his own Turrim Studio. For two years, he was an instructor to the pre-college and Young Artists program at the Rhode Island School of Design, leading classes in stop motion animation, hand-drawn animation, and sculpture. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in animation, design, and illustration.

Grayton joined Nail in 2022 from Charles River Interactive where she was responsible for the communication and relationship management of clients. She offers experience in a variety of digital disciplines, having worked as a private marketing consultant, the digital and social media manager at the Boch Center in Boston and the digital marketing manager at GreenBanana SEO. Grayton is a graduate of Le Moyne College where she received her Masters in Arts Administration, as well as her Bachelor’s in Communications.

“Both Simon and Christine have continued to show immense expertise and leadership in their respective fields,” said Partner Jeanette Palmer. “We’re excited to see how they continue to grow with Nail and our clients.”

Providence Resident Wins HMEA Board of Directors Award for Excellence and Dedication

HMEA—a private, not-for-profit agency that supports nearly 4,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families—today announced that Providence resident Maria Freire has received the agency’s 2023 Board of Directors Award.

The Board of Directors Award is awarded to an employee who has significantly enriched the lives of the people they support, by consistently encouraging meaningful relationships, increasing community participation, empowering people as decision-makers, and teaching new skills.

Freire is a consistent, helpful presence in HMEA’s residential division. Her attendance and work ethic never waver. She is someone both staff and residents can count on, and she remains dedicated to her work.

Freire was nominated by her colleague, Ken Carvalho.

“She is always traveling from another house and another shift, yet remains friendly, pleasant, reliable, and hard-working,” said Carvalho. “We have been lucky and grateful for all her assistance.”

Freire’s award was presented at HMEA’s 34th Annual Awards Night. To learn more about HMEA, its programs and services, and the people it serves, visit www.hmea.org.
