Kim English Out As an Assistant Coach at North Carolina

It did not last long.
“After accepting a position on Michael Malone’s UNC Basketball staff earlier this week, former Providence head coach Kim English has decided not to take the job. English arrived and began working in Chapel Hill this past Wednesday, becoming the second outside addition to Malone’s staff, joining Chuck Martin, who arrived from Arkansas last week,” according to Inside Carolina.

Now, English has left the program.
The reasons are not known.
Malone has deep Rhode Island ties. His father coached at the University of Rhode Island and he attended Bishop Hendricken. Malone later went on to fame in the NBA, leading the Denver Nuggets to an NBA Championship in the 2022-23 season.
English's Tenure
English was Providence College’s coach for the past three years and was officially fired in March.
After a solid 20-win season and a trip to the NIT in his first year, the program fell into free fall.
Despite having more than $10 million in NIL money and a roster loaded with talent this past season, PC finished 15-18 overall and 7-13 in the conference.
