Dan Garvin leads Bryant with 14 points

The Bryant Bulldogs (5-11, 2-1 NEC) fell 65-56 to (9-5, 2-1 NEC) Wagner on Thursday night in New York. The Bulldogs suffer their first conference loss and had their three game winning streak snapped.

Bryant led 49-45 with 5:22 left to play in the game after trailing 31-27 at the half.

Wagner then went on a 10-0 run to eventually take a 55-49 lead with 1:52 to play in the game. 

The Bulldogs would cut it to four, 55-51, after a Dan Garvin lay up with just over 1:40 to play but they would not get closer as Wagner pulled away. 

The Leaders 

Bryant was led by Dan Garvin who poured in 14 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field while Curtis Oakley Jr. followed up with 12 points on 4 of 9 shooting from the field in 25 minutes off the bench. 

Next Up

Bryant returns to action on Saturday when they visit Mount St. Mary's for a 2 p.m. tip off. Mount St. Mary's is currently 3-0 in conference.

Shane McLaughlin

Shane McLaughlin fell just short of a double double, netting 9 points and dishing out 8 assists. 

This is the second straight game in which McLaughlin has dished 8 assists. 

McLaughlin's 9 points came on 2 of 5 shooting from the field and 4 of 7 from the free throw line. 

McLaughlin also grabbed 5 rebounds in the game.

Curtis Oakley

Curtis Oakley gave Bryant solid energy off the bench, pouring in 12 points on 4 of 9 shooting from the field. 

Oakley has now reached double figures in two straight games for the Bulldogs. 

Oakley also grabbed six rebounds in 25 minutes of action.

Hunter Ware

Second year guard Hunter Ware netted 11 points for Bryant on 2 of 9 shooting from the field ad 5 of 6 from the free throw line. 

This is the third straight game in which Ware has reached double figures.

Free Throws

The Bulldogs struggled from the charity stripe in the game, going 14 of 24 for a shooting percentage of 58. 

By comparison, Wagner went 15 of 20 from the line and got the win. 

For Bryant, Hunter Ware was the best from the line going 5 of 6.

Dan Garvin

Bryant was led by Dan Garvin who netted 14 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field but went 0 of 4 from the free throw line. 

Garvin has reached double figures scoring in two of the last three games for Bryant. 

Garvin also pulled down 6 rebounds and blocked two shots in the game.
