Bryant Can’t Hold 17 Point Lead, Falls 71-65 to Saint Francis

The Bryant Bulldogs (7-13, 4-3 NEC) fell 71-65 to (7-10), 4-3 NEC) Saint Francis on Thursday night at the Chace Athletic Center. Bryant has now lost two straight games and are 1-2 on their home stand. 

After leading by 17 at the half, 45-28, Bryant found themselves in a tie game, 61-61, after an Isaiah Blackmon jumper went in with 6:45 to go in the game. 

Both teams went scoreless for about the next three minutes before Blackmon made a layup to give Saint Francis a 63-61 lead with 3:34 to play. That would be Saint Francis' first lead since they were up 2-0 in the opening minutes.

The Bulldogs would be down two, 65-63 after a Marcel Pettway layup however, Saint Francis closed the game on a 6-2 run to seal a come back win. 

Bryant was outscored 43-20 in the second half. 

The Leaders 

Dan Garvin led Bryant with 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting front he field while also grabbing 8 rebounds, blocking 4 shots and dishing out 3 assists. 

Hunter Ware and Shane McLaughlin each followed up with 12. 

Next Up

Bryant returns to action on Saturday when they host Robert Morris at 4 p.m. This is the final game of their home stand before the Bulldogs hit the road for four straight.
