U.S. Army Veteran David J. Brown of Exeter Dies at 80

David J. Brown, age 80, of Exeter, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Morris) Brown, to whom he shared 19 years of marriage.

 

Born in Pittsburg, he was the son of the late Andrew and Alma Brown. David was a Veteran of the United States Army. Upon discharge from the military, he and his family chose to move to Rhode Island to pursue Home Education which was not legal in any other state at the time.

 

David always put his family and loved ones first. He had a love for antiques, and was a talented woodworker and woodcarver, and refinished the entirety of his home himself. He enjoyed working with his hands, fixing things around the house and took pride in taking care of the landscaping in his yard.

 

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Brian Brown and his wife Lenee, and Valarie Spicher and her husband Robert; step-children, Sandra Redman and her husband Joseph, and Teresa Cooper and her husband Brian; sister, Carol Mays and her husband Roger; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late David Brown and Kriste Papi.
