VIDEO: Footage of Great White Shark Off Block Island
The Atlantic Shark Institute (ASI) released video on Monday of a great white shark off Block Island - and said that the footage is significant.
“We are happy to share this wonderful and perhaps first-of-its-kind rare video of a great white shark in Rhode Island waters, and the search of the humpback whale that led to its discovery,” said ASI Executive Director Jon Dodd.

In June, GoLocal shared a video of two whales off the coast of Block Island, which was deemed a “cool sighting” by an expert, who provided more insight into the encounter.
Earlier in July, a whale washed ashore on Block Island - and was buried by the town.
